Rotary Year will be ______.
2. Age of Students
Exchange students must be at least 15 years old, but not yet 18, on
August 1st of the year they commence their exchange.
The majority of students will commence their exchange in mid to late
August.
3.
School Status
Some District 5080 outbound

a limited number who have graduated.

5.
Host Club Responsibilities
Unless specifically agreed between the parties in advance, each will
ensure that host Rotary clubs:
(a) place students with a minimum of
3 and a maximum of 5 host families;
(b) appoint a Rotary club counselor

(c) enroll students in a school
which they must attend full time; and
(d) provide each student with a
monthly allowance equal to approximately US $50.

Insurance
District 5080 outbound students will be insured under
Select Care Risk Management Corp.
This insurance covers all countries, and District 5080 outbound students
will not purchase other insurance unless otherwise agreed in advance with the
hosting Rotary district.
All inbound students are required to purchase insurance through District
5080 unless otherwise agreed in advance with the sponsor Rotary district.
Inbound students must pay for their insurance before June 1st for August
arrivals. Where special
arrangements are made for students to arrive at times other than August,
insurance must be paid for 2 months prior to the arrival date.
Insurance coverage is effective from the date students actually leave
their home country.
7.
Dealing with Problems
In case of serious disciplinary problems concerning an exchange students, both
parties agree to immediately contact the student's sponsor District to discuss
the problem before terminating the student's exchange.

Inbound Students to District 5080
District
5080 requires inbound applications by March 1st for allocation to host clubs.
If applications cannot be provided by March 1st, the front page of each
application (or the name, sex, date of birth, and brief description of each
student) must be sent by fax before that date.
Complete
applications are required no later than April 1 for students to be accepted by
schools in District 5080.
Failure to submit a complete application by that date may result in
District 5080 being unable to accept a student.
District
5080 has a 2-day mandatory orientation camp for inbound students on the second
weekend in September.
All inbound students must arrive in the District early enough to attend
the Inbound Orientation
9.
District 5080 Outbound Students
District
5080 allocates outbound students to host districts in February.
There is a mandatory orientation for outbound students in mid-May.
10. District
5080
The District includes 54 clubs in the states of Washington and Idaho in
the US, and in the province of British Columbia in Canada.
Every effort will be made to place inbound students in their country of
choice, but this is not always possible - and can not be guaranteed.
Students hosted in both countries share travel and other experiences
several times during the exchange year.
Most District 5080 Rotary clubs are located in smaller towns and cities. Students suited to this environment, and who are interested
in sports and outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, fishing, etc. will
particularly enjoy their year on exchange in District 5080.
